After beating Chelsea at Anfield last Sunday, Liverpool will feel that they have cleared their last major hurdle before going onto win this season’s Premier League title.

Although Cardiff looks an easy clash on paper, they might not be anything resembling pushovers on Sunday.

That’s because Cardiff are currently fighting for their lives and looking to pull themselves out of the relegation zone, a plight that has undoubtedly been helped after their win away at Brighton on Tuesday night.

That win at The AMEX still sees Neil Warnock’s men with something to do and they are running out of games in which to do so. That said, there will certainly be increased belief within the Cardiff camp, that they can now stay up at the end of the season.

All that belief though will count for nothing, if they don’t get points on the board and the visit of Liverpool will certainly pose as tough challenge for the Bluebirds, especially as the Merseysiders are still gunning for the title.

By the time we reach kick-off on Sunday, it could well be that Liverpool find themselves playing catchup once again and although that is not the ideal position to be in, they have managed to answer all the previous questions that Manchester City have asked of them.

Liverpool will be hoping that City’s incredible encounter on Wednesday night, is then one that sees them exerting too much effort and with Tottenham already having their number, Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for a huge favour come Saturday lunchtime.

Even if that favour does not materialise, Liverpool will make the trip to South Wales in good mood and especially after making light work of FC Porto in midweek – a win that sees them book a place in the Champions League Semi-finals.

Such has been the focus on Liverpool’s quest to win the Premier League, many have almost forgotten the fact that they themselves are attempting to be crowned kings of the continent and in turn, go one better than the final loss to Real Madrid last year.

It does pose an interesting dilemma as to whether Liverpool feel they can compete on both fronts and what trophy the club would love to win more and although it is a balancing act that will no doubt have to be made, it is not necessarily an immediate concern either.

With Mohamed Salah now back amongst the league goals and also chasing the Premier League Golden Boot, it means that Liverpool are firing on all attacking cylinders once again and this is something that Cardiff will no doubt be wary of.

The Bluebirds often refer to their fans as the 12th man and they will have to hope that they can help turn their home into a fortress this Sunday and if they can, it will at least make life more difficult for the title chasers.

Then again, even though Cardiff will be scrapping for just about everything, you do get the feeling that Liverpool will have more than enough to come out on top. With that in mind, this should prove to be a relatively routine win for the visitors.
