The pick of the Serie A action this weekend is on Sunday and we have a great match to look forward to between Roma and AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma begin the weekend in fifth place but things are tight in that region of the league table.  A win would move them above AC Milan and into fourth place but a defeat could see them drop two places to seventh.

AC Milan need a win to consolidate their position in the top four but there is also a danger they could drop as low as seventh, so there is all to play for in this game.

Roma need to give their fans something to shout about following an embarrassing 7-1 loss at the hands of Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night. With the match at 2-1 in favour of the hosts it could have gone either way but Fiorentina ran riot and the Roma fans made their displeasure known after the match.

That result means Roma have failed to win either of their last two games having been held to a 3-3 draw at Atlanta in Serie A last weekend.  This game was another example of Roma losing their way as they were 3-0 up after 40 minutes but allowed the hosts back into the match.

However, trends show Roma have lost only one of their last thirteen home matches in Serie A and have won each of the last three on home soil.  Both teams have scored in nine of their last twelve in the league and they must improve defensively.

Milan booked their place in the semi-final of the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night, defeating Napoli 2-0 at home which was a great result. Trends show they have lost just one of their last seven matches in all competitions and that was the Super Cup against Juventus.

AC Milan have lost only one of their last nine Serie A games but have picked up just three wins during that run of matches.  Therefore, it is no surprise to discover they have been drawing at half-time of their last nine Serie A games.

The Rossoneri have been defending well and have a kept a clean sheet in five of their last seven Serie A matches and in each of their last three away games.

Team news and Roma will be without the suspended duo of Bryan Cristante and Steven Nzonzi.  Juan Jesus, Diego Perotti and Cengiz Under are injured.

AC Milan travel without Cristian Zapata, Mattia Caldara, Lucas Biglia, Giacomo Bonaventura and Pepe Reina.  Krzysztof Piatek scored 2 goals on his debut in mid-week and is likely to start.

Roma need to up their game if they want to qualify for the Champions League this season and we may see a slightly more cautious approach from them in this match.  Keeping a clean sheet will be on their mind and with AC Milan good defensively we could see a low scoring draw.
