Lyon to see off Reims comfortably

On Friday night, Lyon host Reims at the Groupama Stadium in Ligue One, as the home side attempts to maintain their position in top-four of the French top-flight.

Lyon heads into this game on an inconsistent run of form in Ligue 1, having won just once in four league outings. Despite the relatively patchy form, OL remain in third place in the table, just two points behind second place Lille.

Last time out in the French top-flight, Bruno Genesio’s team drew 1-1 at fellow top four side Montpellier. It was not a terrible result considering that their opponents are just two points behind in the table.

OL have a mixed recent record on home soil of late in Ligue One. However, they have recorded three wins in their last five matches. Rather unusually for Lyon at home in recent seasons, their recent Ligue One games at the Groupama Stadium have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six matches on home soil.

Stade Reims are enjoying a very steady Ligue One campaign so far this season. In fact, a win in this clash would see them move up to sixth place in the French top-flight table. Last time out the visitors drew 2-2 at home against Caen.

The draw was part of an inconsistent run of form of late in Ligue 1. Reims have had a habit of drawing games in the French top-flight drawing three of their previous five in Ligue One.

Reims have struggled for victories on their travels in Ligue One, having won just one of their last eight away games in the French top-flight. The visitor’s recent away matches have also been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last five matches on their travels.

Forebet predicts that Lyon will record a comfortable victory over the visitors in a high scoring encounter to consolidate their spot in the Champions League positions.

Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille clash in Le Classique

Paris Saint-Germain take a record of 18 games unbeaten into Sunday’s Le Classique against arch-rivals Marseille. Like high-profile European matches between Inter Milan and Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona, and Liverpool and Manchester United, these two clubs have a strong hate for one another.
