Two of the promotion candidates in Serie B meet on Monday night, as second-place Palermo host sixth-place Bari at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
The Italian second tier is very tight, with just three points separating the two teams in the table. Furthermore, eight teams are competing for the automatic promotion spots.
Palermo are currently level on points with third-place Parma, so the Sicilian side cannot afford any slip-ups in the race for a place in Serie A for next season.
However, the home side has struggled for form in recent games, winning just one of their last six league games. Last time out they suffered a 3-0 defeat against promotion rivals, Venezia.
Palermo do however have a decent recent home record in Serie B, winning five of their last eight home games in the Italian league. The Sicilian side has also kept clean sheets in seven of their last 11 league games on home soil.
The visitors could move level on points with the home side with a win and blow the promotion race open.
Bari heads into this game on the back of a six-game unbeaten run in Serie B. However, the visitors have drawn four of those unbeaten games, including four of their last five outings. However, a run of four straight draws in the Italian top-flight ended last time out with a 1-0 win over Virtus Entella.
The visitor’s recent Serie B outings have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league outings.
Bari’s recent away form has not been great, as the visitors have won just one of their five games on their travels in Serie B.
Forebet predicts that both teams will be frustrated in their pursuit of three points with this game finishing all square.
