The final match of the weekend in Ligue 1 takes place on Sunday night as Lyon welcome Toulouse to the Groupama Stadium.
This is a massive match for both teams as they attempt to achieve their aims at the top and bottom of the league respectively. Lyon start the weekend in 4th place and are hoping to qualify for the Champions League by finishing 3rd, above Marseille.
Toulouse have a relegation battle on their hands and are currently in 18th place, which would see them face a relegation playoff. However, they could drop into the automatic places if they lose this game and other results go against them this weekend.
Lyon know the chances of catching Monaco in second place are slim but they can catch Marseille, the team they defeated away from home in the final match before the international break. It was a great result for Lyon and means they have won their last two Ligue 1 games.
Not only that but Lyon have remained undefeated in their last five Ligue 1 matches, having suffered a run of three straight defeats.
Trends show Lyon have lost only five of their last thirty-four league games and three of those defeats came in their horrible spell towards the end of January and early February. Lyon emerged from those three losses with three draws and this has presented Marseille with the hope of Champions League football.
Lyon have lost two of their last sixteen home Ligue 1 games and have scored at least one goal in six of their last seven at the Groupama Stadium.
Toulouse travel to Lyon in desperate search for a win. Despite having lost only two of their last six matches, trends show Toulouse have failed to win a game in that period, drawing each of the other four matches.
Last time out they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Strasbourg, a team just two places above them in the league table. Despite taking the lead with goals in the 89th and 91st minute, Toulouse could not hang on for the win and conceded an equaliser with 94 minutes on the clock, which came as a huge blow.
Toulouse struggle when asked to play away from home in Ligue 1 and trends show they have won only three of their last thirty away matches. In addition, they have lost their last six games against Lyon in Ligue 1.
Looking ahead to the team news and Lyon will be without the suspended Mariano and that could mean a place in attack for Myziane Maolida. Nabil Fekir will remain on the treatment table for another couple of weeks.
Toulouse have Steeve Yago suspended and Quentin Boisgard injured so both will miss the game. Andy Delort is doubtful having recently been arrested for drinking driving.
Lyon will be hoping Marseille drop points in their match on Saturday and should have no problem taking care of Toulouse on home soil. There may not be many goals in the game but Lyon should come away with maximum points.
