Barcelona hold a 1-0 advantage over Roma in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals, with the second leg taking place at Camp Nou on Wednesday.

The Spanish side completely dominated the first leg in Rome last week, racking up 70% possession and 33 shots – 11 of which were on target.

Despite Barcelona’s dominance, Salma Paralluelo scored the only goal of the game. Still, Barca will be confident of cruising into the semi-finals in front of their fans.

Barcelona head into Wednesday’s showdown on the back of a 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid, courtesy of Fridolina Rolfo’s 77th-minute penalty.

Remarkably, Barca have won all 23 of their Liga F matches this season, meaning they find themselves 13 points clear at the summit of the Spanish top flight.

It is also worth noting that Barcelona have scored a whopping 99 goals in 23 league outings (4.3 goals per game), conceding on just five occasions in the process.

Having won eight of their previous nine Champions League matches, Barcelona will be hopeful of punching their ticket to the semi-finals on Wednesday.

As for Roma, they have not played a game since last week’s first-leg defeat, so they head into Wednesday’s clash as the fresher of the two sides.

It is worth pointing out that Roma have only lost two of their past 11 Champions League matches, giving the visitors hope for the second leg.

Roma find themselves five points clear at the summit of the Serie A table, having won 17 of their 19 games this season.

The Italian side were enjoying a run of 10 victories in 11 games across all competitions before losing to Barcelona, but they will likely struggle to return to winning ways at Camp Nou.

Head-to-head: Barcelona and Roma met for the very first time last week, meaning Barca boast a 100% record in this fixture.

Team news: Barcelona midfielder Airana Bonmati has bagged five goals and five assists in the UWCL this season, while Mariona Caldentey and Geyse have both notched four goals and four assists.

Meanwhile, Valenatina Giacinti and Manuela Giugliano are Roma’s biggest threats. Giacinti has scored five UWCl goals this term, while Giugliano has bagged three goals and four assists.

Given Barcelona’s total domination in the first leg, the Spanish side are expected to reach the semi-finals without any problems.

Forebet predicts that Barca will crusie to a comofrtable victory on Wednesday, scoring over 3.5 goals in the process.
