Off the back of defeats each in Serie A, Roma and Cremonese will meet in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals this Wednesday evening with Jose Mourinho’s men right back in the Champions League mixture in a thrilling campaign in Italy.

It’s been far from a great season for Mourinho’s side, but with everyone in the top six except for Napoli dropping points on a regular basis, plus the 15-point deduction for Juventus, Roma are now in a fantastic position to get themselves into the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia and back into the Champions League as well.

Last time out, Mourinho saw his side narrowly lose to the unstoppable league leaders Napoli, as Stephan El Shaarawy scored in the second half to equalise for Roma before a winner five minutes from time for the destined champions.

Nevertheless, despite another loss, Roma are in sixth and only behind AC Milan directly above them by one point and just three points adrift of Inter Milan in second.

Better yet for the Rome side, they will see the two Milan sides battle it out in Serie A this weekend and with them having an eight-point gap on Udinese in seventh, there is a great chance for them to now move further up the table and potentially into third.

Roma have also beaten Spezia and Fiorentina in January in Serie A ever since that thrilling 2-2 draw at the San Siro with the champions Milan.

Paulo Dybal scored a brace against Fiorentina at home, before a fantastic goal from Tammy Abraham and another finish from El Shaarawy sealed all three points in the second half against Spezia.

As for Cremonese, they are in terrible record-breaking form. No side this century in Italy's top flight has ever gone 20 games without a win, but Cremonese now heading into this game with eight draws and 12 losses in Serie A and a gap of 10 points to make up on Spezia in the safe spots of the league.

Ultimately, they have one foot back in Serie B already and there is very little hope of them even getting one win anymore.

On the other hand, they did manage to stun Napoli in the Coppa Italia in the last round. Once again, they failed to win the game in 90 minutes but the last-placed Serie A side still managed to beat them on penalties.

Forebet predicts a win for Roma and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
