On Sunday afternoon, Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool will meet at the Amex in one of two all-Premier League FA Cup fourth-round ties.

Earlier this month, Brighton claimed a hugely impressive 3-0 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League – racking up 61% possession and 18 shots in the process.

Consequently, sixth-placed Brighton lead ninth-placed Liverpool by two points in the top-flight table. Who will come out on top this time around? It's time to take a closer look at the teams.

Let’s start with the hosts, Brighton, who head into Sunday’s clash on the back of a 2-2 draw with Leicester City in the Premier League.

As a result, the Seagulls have now lost just two of their previous eight league encounters – beating Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Southampton, Everton and Liverpool along the way.

Roberto De Zerbi’s men booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 5-1 thrashing of Middlesbrough, with Alexis Mac Allister bagging a brace.

Having scored 19 goals across their past six outings in all competitions (3.2 goals per game), Brighton will be confident of overcoming Liverpool for the second time this month.

As for Jurgen Klopp’s side, they were held to a goalless draw by Chelsea last time out – extending their winless run in the Premier League to three games.

Since returning from the World Cup break, the Reds have registered three wins, two draws and three losses in all competitions.

Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Wolves at Anfield in the previous round of the FA Cup before winning the replay 1-0 at Molineux.

There is no hiding the fact that Liverpool are enduring a below-par campaign, but the reigning FA Cup champions will fancy their chances of defending their crown.

Head-to-head: As we know, Brighton beat Liverpool 3-0 earlier this month. Still, the Reds have only lost one of their past four matches against the Seagulls.

Three of the previous six meetings between Brighton and Liverpool have ended in draws, with two of those games producing over 3.5 goals.

Team news: Brighton look set to be without the injured trio of Adam Lallana, Levi Colwill and Jakub Moder this weekend.

Liverpool’s extensive injury list features numerous key players, including Virgil van Dijk, Roberto Firmino, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.

Given the high-scoring nature of this fixture in recent times, Sunday’s clash is destined to be an eventful affair with plenty of opportunities for both sides.

Forebet predicts that Brighton and Liverpool will play out a lively draw at the Amex, with both teams scoring over 1.5 goals.
