Spezia go into the Coppa Italia round of 16 seeking to kickstart their campaign. The Eagles are 15th in the Serie A standings and nine points above the relegation zone.

Spezia led 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals from Emmanuel Gyasi and M’Bala Nzola. Atalanta came back to get the draw thanks to an improved second-half performance. Goals from Rasmus Hoejlund and Mario Pasalic in the final 13 minutes gave Atalanta a share of the spoils.
Each of the last four games between Atalanta and Spezia ended with both teams scoring goals and over 3.5 goals.
Gasperini has no fresh injury worries ahead of the match on Thursday night in Bergamo. Atalanta are led in goals by forward Ademola Lookman with nine. The former RB Leipzig and Leicester City player could get a start in attack for La Dea.
Spezia goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet is ruled out of action with a ligament injury. He isn’t due back until March. Nzola, who scored against Atalanta in the league earlier this season, leads Spezia in goals with 11.
No other player for Spezia has more than three goals in all competitions this season.
Thursday’s match is Atalanta’s first Coppa Italia fixture of the season. Meanwhile, Spezia have played twice in the cup already. The Eagles defeated Como at home 5-1 before knocking out Brescia 3-1 at home.
Atalanta are likely to be too much for Spezia ona Thursday night. La Dea are unbeaten in five straight games against the Eagles and should pick up a win at full-time.
Like the teams’ previous five meetings, the game should finish with both teams scoring and over 3.5 goals. Atalanta should prevail with a 3-1 win.
