Argyle’s recent form has been poor, but they head into this second place in the League Two looking in good shape to win promotion to the Championship.

Despite their lofty league position, Plymouth has won just one of their previous six games in all competitions. On the flip side, the home side has also lost two of their last 22 matches in all competitions.
Poor defensive displays have contributed significantly to their recent poor results, as Plymouth have conceded at least two goals in three of their last four matches.
Plymouth have a good recent record in the EFL Trophy, as they are unbeaten in five matches in the competition, having recorded three straight wins in normal time. The other two games in the unbeaten run have produced shootout victories over Arsenal U21 and Bristol Rovers.
The visitors are currently in midtable in the League Two table, just three points off the play-off spots in the English fourth tier.

AFC Wimbledon has a decent recent record in the EFL Trophy, as they are unbeaten in four games over 90 minutes, having recorded three wins. The other game in the run ended in a penalty kick defeat against Portsmouth.
