Ternana and Cagliari will battle it out in Serie B this weekend with the two clubs come into this match off the back of winless runs in the Italian second tier as Cagliari are still in the bottom half and struggling to put together a decent run of form towards the playoffs.

It's the first season in Serie B in seven campaigns for Cagliari, and with just four wins on the board from 15 games, the club are sitting 12th and one point behind 10th-placed Modena as they look to get into the top half at the very least.

The club have only lost four other games in the league, but with seven draws too, they remain well off it in Serie B so far.

The former Serie A side have now gone on a winless run of seven games in all competitions, losing to Bologna in the Coppa Italia second round too within this stretch.

Ascoli also beat them in Serie B, before Cagliari went on to draw five games in a row against Reggina, Sudtirol, Pisa, Frosinone and Parma.

More worryingly, however, the 12th-placed side are also just four points above the bottom three in Serie A and should Cagliari lose here as others win, they could find themselves in a seriously alarming position in next to no time.

As for Ternana, they are in a much better spot right now, but they have still not been able to win a game since October, similarly to Cagliari's record.

Benevento were the team Ternana last defeated in Serie B, before then losing to Genoa, drawing with Bari, SPAL, and Brescia. The club have also lost their past two games, losing to Pisa and Venezia.

Ternana are sitting seventh in the table and still within the playoffs. However, they are now 10 points adrift of Frosinone in first.

The club are still just one point behind third-placed Bari, and a victory here would force them right back into the title mix.

What makes this game more interesting is the goals difference. Despite six positions separating the two sides, both have let in 18 goals from 15 games so far, while Cagliari have scored just two goals fewer (17) than that of Ternana's.

Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals as Cagliari’s run of draws continues to worry fans. It also means both sides will remain without a win for many weeks.
