In fact, their recent league form could not have been any more inconsistent, as Huesca has won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six league outings.
A 2-0 defeat against Tenerife last time out in the Segunda continued a low-scoring trend for Huesca, as their previous ten Segunda matches have all produced under 2.5 goals.
Jose Angel Ziganda’s team have been strong on home soil of late, as they are unbeaten in seven home matches in the Spanish second tier, having recorded five wins and two draws.
The visitors are just two points behind their hosts in the Segunda table. A victory would see them leapfrog their opponents in the standings.
However, victories have been in short supply in recent times for Sporting, as they have failed to win in their previous five league matches.
It has been a tale of too many draws for the visitors, though, as four of their last five league matches have finished all square. Sporting Gijon has been hard to beat of late in the Segunda, as they have lost just once in their last ten matches in the Spanish second tier.
The visitors have been poor travellers in recent seasons in the Segunda, as they have recorded just one away win in their previous 15 league outings on their travels.
