The first leg of the Champions League playoffs takes place this Tuesday evening as København meet with Trabzonspor at the Parken Stadium with the winner of this clash set to take one giant leap into Europe’s elite competition.

We are five games into the Danish Superliga as of now with Copenhagen having a shambolic start to the 2022/23 campaign.

Compared to their usual status in battling it out for the top two each year, the Danish giants are down in eighth after five games in the league with them having only two wins on the board and three losses.

At the same time as their woeful league record, the club have also conceded as many goals (10) as they have scored thus far after five games, and this all but sums up the start to their new season.

The club kicked things off with the hosting of Horsens in the league and despite being clear favourites to rack up all three points in that game, they lost 1-0 in what was ultimately a pretty torrid display.

Copenhagen did manage to have three shots on target and see 65% of the ball, but it was far from a positive attacking display.

Fremad Arnager were up next for the club in a friendly, and this resulted in a 2-1 victory before they got their first win in the league just five days later.

Copenhagen managed to beat AaB in that game, as Viktor Claesson scored twice before Isak Bergmann Johannesson scored in the 94th minute of the game.

They immediately fell back into the losing column, however, as Viborg beat them 4-2 with Claesson scoring again as Pep Biel also netted for the reigning champions of the Danish Superliga.

Brondy were up next for Jess Thorup's men in what was a must-win game for form and confidence, and Copenhagen would meet the wishes of the fans with a 4-1 victory on home soil.

A loss to Randers does mean they're back to losing ways, but if they can find the form shown in the previous game against Brondby, things may look a lot brighter for them heading into this game.

Trabzonspor are two wins up from two games in the defence of their Super Lig title, and off the back of losing the Turkish Cup semi-finals over two legs against Kayserispor, they are out here with a point to prove.

Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game.
