Cadiz survived relegation last season by a single point. The home side are one of the favourites to go down this season in La Liga and a difficult start to the campaign could doom the club.

Real Sociedad have been active in the summer transfer market signing right winger Brais Mendez for around €13 million from Celta Vigo. The Royal also signed Mohamed Ali Cho from Angers. Real Sociedad also sprang for Takefusa Kubo
The club did sell Willian Jose and goalkeeper Matt Ryan. Adnan Januzaj was allowed to leave on free transfer.
Cadiz have also been in the market for new players. The Yellow Submarine do not have the money to spend on the players that Real Sociedad do. Right-back Jose Zaldua arrived from Sociedad on a free. Centre-backs Ruben Alcaraz and Victor Chust also joined to makeover the defence.
The Yellow Submarine posted a home record of 3W-9D-7L. Cadiz had the worst record in La Liga at home in 2021-22. Real Sociedad had the sixth-best away points total last term. The Royal posted an away record of 7W-6D-6L.
Coach Imanol Aguacil is starting his fourth full season at Real Sociedad. He has continually had them in the Europa League places or fighting for them. Sociedad should start the new campaign with a win at full-time as the game ends 2-1.
