On Sunday, London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge in the standout tie of the Premier League weekend.

Both sides won their opening game, with Chelsea edging out Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park and Tottenham thrashing Southampton 4-1 on home soil.

Spurs find themselves atop the Premier League table thanks to their superior goal difference, although you can’t read too much into the standings at this stage of the season.

It’s safe to say that Chelsea completely dominated Everton last weekend, racking up 63% possession and 15 shots – six of which were on target.

However, the Blues only managed to score one goal. Deep into first-half stoppage-time, Jorginho converted a penalty to hand his side all three points.

Thanks to a solid end to the previous campaign, Thomas Tuchel’s men have lost just five of their last 33 Premier League games.

It is also worth noting that Chelsea have scored in each of their past 16 home games in the Premier League, meaning they should find the back of the net on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Tottenham crushed Southampton 4-1 on the opening weekend. Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier and Dejan Kulusevski scored, in addition to an own goal from Mohammed Salisu.

Spurs enjoyed 58% of the ball last time out, chalking up 18 shots in the process. The Saints, on the other hand, managed just two attempts on target.

Antonio Conte’s side avoided defeat in each of their final six league games last term, meaning they head into Matchday 2 on a seven-game unbeaten streak.

When you look at the bigger picture, Tottenham have lost just one of their previous 12 Premier League encounters.

Head-to-head: It is worth pointing out that Spurs have only managed to win seven of their last 44 Premier League meetings with Chelsea.

The Blues have avoided defeat in each of their previous seven league games against Tottenham, securing six wins and one draw.

Team news: Chelsea are the only Premier League side without any injury concerns at the moment. Marc Cucurella could make his full debut for the club after joining from Brighton.

As for Tottenham, they will be without injured midfielder Oliver Skipp on Sunday. Richarlison could feature for the first time following his move from Everton.

While Chelsea struggled to break down Everton last weekend, Spurs ran riot against Southampton. Naturally, Conte’s men will be brimming with belief.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Tottenham will claim the London bragging rights on Sunday – scoring over 1.5 goals on their way to victory.
