Saturday brings us the opening weekend of the new German Bundesliga season and features this upcoming clash between Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen.
The teams face off at the VOLKSWAGEN ARENA, both looking to make an early impact in their respective Bundesliga campaigns.

Wolfsburg finished last season just below the mid-table mark in the German top flight in 12th place and ended up trailing the play-off pack by a 10-point margin as a consequence of producing an inconsistent season overall.
However, although the hosts picked up just 12 wins out of the total of 34 matches played overall, seven of these 12 victories were collected on home soil which contributed to Wolfsburg avoiding any of the relegation dramas that unfolded beneath them in the lower reaches of the division.
Wolfsburg finished the season with a four-match unbeaten run which included wins against Mainz 5-0 at home and a 1-0 win away at FC Cologne, while also losing just two of their final eight home games of the last campaign.
The hosts will be seeking a fourth win on the trot against their newly-promoted visitors, Werder Bremen, on Saturday.
Onto Werder Bremen then, and as mentioned, the visitors gained promotion back up to the Bundesliga at the end of last season’s 2 Bundesliga campaign thanks to back to back victories over Erzgebirge Aue and Jahn Regensburg in their final two games of the season.
This helped them over the line at the expense of 3rd placed Hamburg who trailed them by a three-point margin.
Werder Bremen have also produced a fairly reliable and consistent sequence of results away from home too.
The visitors have suffered just two losses in their last 11 outings on the road in all competitions, losing at Heidenheim in the 2 Bundesliga and Turkish outfit, Besiktas, in a recent pre-season friendly.
However, this is in stark contrast to their previous campaign in the domestic top flight which saw Werder Bremen lose their last four away games on the trot of an ultimately disappointing campaign which ended in relegation for the visitors.
Losses at Stuttgart, Borussia Dortmund, Union Berlin and Augsburg rounded off a disastrous previous tenure in the top flight and having lost their last three meetings on the trot against Wolfsburg, it could be a disappointing start to this new season for Werder Bremen.
