The grueling run towards Champions League qualification is set to continue for Inter d'Escaldes and Vikingur Reykjavik as the two clash at the Víkingsvöllur Stadium where the winner takes all in progression to the next round.

The season is now completed on the domestic front for Inter, who are now fully focused on securing a spot in Europe's elite competition over the forthcoming weeks after a fantastic season back in Andorra.

They did, however, make hard work of their run in the playoffs over in their homeland, with them finishing only three points ahead of UE Santa Coloma in the end.

At the same time, despite finishing top of the Championship table, Inter lost to Coloma and then drew 2-2 with Sant Julia in the Primera Divisio playoffs, which meant they finished their domestic season with just two wins from their last 10.

It was a dreadful run of form from the Andorran side, much against what has happened previously in what has been a great season for Fede Bessone’s men.

This run of form also included a brutal defeat in the Andorran Cup final on penalties, but they did still manage to keep up a fantastic defensive and goalscoring record throughout the season with 54 goals scored and 24 goals conceded across the 27 games of the Primera Divisio.

Now, if they can revitalize their form shown earlier in the campaign that saw them remain the best defensive side in the league, they have a fantastic chance to keep marching through the Champions League qualification rounds.

Inter met with La Fiorita of San Marino last time out, and it was a much tougher game than was predicted for Bessone's side.

The San Marino outfit took the lead in the first half, but a double within 11 minutes in the second half from Genis Soldevila Solduga gave Inter the 2-1 win and progression into this game.

Víkingur, however, made easy work of their run into this clash, with them stunningly seeing six different goalscorers in a 6-1 over Levadia after going 1-0 down within five minutes.

The Icelandic side are also on a run of five wins in a row, which also included a 7-0 thrashing of Haukar in the Icelandic Football Cup round of 32.

Their excellent performances in Iceland so far put them as the favourites here, and Forebet predicts Víkingur will win with the game seeing under 2.5 goals.
