On Friday night, Drogheda United and Sligo Rovers go head-to-head at the Head in the Game Park in the Irish Premier Division.
Kevin Doherty’s team is four league matches unbeaten heading into this clash. However, United have drawn their last two matches in the Irish top-flight against Bohemians and Derry City.

A 1-1 draw against Derry last time out continued a low-scoring trend for the home side in the Premier Division, as four of their previous five games have produced under 2.5 goals.
Despite Drogheda being eighth-place in a ten-team league, they are still ten points clear of ninth-place Finn Harps and 12 ahead of bottom of the table UCD.
Drogheda’s recent home form has been slightly inconsistent, although they have won their last two home games in the Irish top-flight while losing just one of their previous six Premier Division matches on home soil.
The visitors are currently fifth-place in the table, and finishing in one of the European qualification spots is not out of reach. In fact, they are only six points adrift of the league’s top three with plenty of football yet to be played.
Liam Buckley’s team is unbeaten in their last three outings in the Premier Division, although they have also won just two of their previous eight games in the Irish top-flight. Last time out, Rovers recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Finn Harps.
Unlike their opponents, Sligo’s recent league outings have been relatively high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven Premier Division games.
Forebet predicts that Sligo Rovers will record a victory in a low-scoring game to enhance their chances of mounting a realistic challenge for a European spot next season.
