As they prepare to face Italy in Cesena on Tuesday, Hungary are sitting pretty atop UEFA Nations League Group A3 following an impressive victory over England.

The Hungarians beat the Euro 2020 runners-up 1-0 on Saturday, meaning they find themselves two points clear of Germany and Italy.

Meanwhile, the Italians drew 1-1 with Germany in their campaign opener. Can the Euro 2020 champions return to winning ways on Tuesday?

Italy saw just 32% possession against Germany while managing only two shots on target. Even so, they were able to come away with a point.

The Azzurri carried a mammoth unbeaten run into last summer’s European Championship before going on to lift the trophy. However, they have been wildly unpredictable since then.

Italy have registered three wins, five draws and three losses since Euro 2020, highlighting their recent inconsistency.

It is also worth noting that Roberto Mancini’s men have managed to win just one of their past six outings across all competitions.

As for Hungary, Dominik Szoboszlai scored the only goal of the game as his country claimed a memorable 1-0 win over England on Saturday.

The Hungarians racked up 11 shots – six of which were on target – as the Three Lions failed to make the most of their 58% possession.

That victory means that Hungary head into Tuesday’s clash on the back of two straight wins, having dispatched Northern Ireland earlier this year.

It is also worth pointing out that Hungary have lost only one of their previous six games in all competitions, securing four wins and one draw in the process.

Head-to-head: Interestingly, Hungary claimed a 3-1 friendly win over Italy when the two sides last met back in 2007.

That said, the Italians have lost just one of their previous eight meetings with Hungary – picking up five wins and two draws along the way.

Team news: Chelsea duo Jorginho and Emerson have left the Italy camp, along with Giorgio Chiellini, Federico Bernardeschi, Lorenzo Insigne and Marco Verratti.

Hungary head coach Marco Rossi may be tempted to leave his team unchanged after their impressive win against England.

The Hungarians will be brimming with belief after beating England, so they will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds once again on Tuesday.

Forebet predicts that Hungary will hold Italy to a draw on Tuesday, with both teams scoring under 1.5 goals.
