England will be looking to bounce back from a lacklustre 1-0 defeat to Hungary when they travel to the Allianz Arena to face Germany on Tuesday.

The Three Lions find themselves bottom of UEFA Nations League Group A3 – one point behind Germany and Italy.

On the flip side, the Germans sit second – two points behind first-place Hungary – after drawing 1-1 with Italy on Saturday.

Not only did Germany enjoy 68% possession in Bologna, but they also racked up 12 shots. However, they were forced to settle for a point in their opening game of the campaign.

Lorenzo Pellegrini gave the Italians the lead midway through the second half before Joshua Kimmich equalised three minutes later.

The Germans extended their unbeaten streak to ten games on Saturday, meaning they have picked up eight wins and two draws since last summer’s European Championship.

Across their eight-game winning run between September and March, Germany scored 33 goals (4.1 goals per game) while conceding just twice. They also kept seven clean sheets in the process.

Despite seeing 58% of the ball against Hungary, England failed to make their dominance count and eventually lost to a Dominik Szoboszlai penalty.

The Three Lions lost just one of their 17 games in 2021, falling to Italy in the final of Euro 2020. They also won their first two games of 2020.

However, Gareth Southgate’s side were humbled by the Hungarians on Saturday. They must pick themselves up, dust themselves down, and go again.

It is worth noting that England scored 35 goals in nine games after Euro 2020 (3.9 goals per game). Still, they failed to find the back of the net last time out.

Head-to-head: England knocked Germany out of Euro 2020 in the round of 16, claiming an impressive 2-0 victory on that occasion.

The two rivals have faced each other 33 times over the years. England have 14 wins to their name, while Germany have 15.

Team news: Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala are expected to come into Germany’s starting XI after starting as substitutes last time out.

As for England, Raheem Sterling, Bukayo Saka and Reece James are likely to be restored to the starting line-up.

England looked tired in their defeat to Hungary, so they could struggle to compete with a Germany on Tuesday.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Germany will notch a low-scoring win over England – keeping a clean sheet in the process.
