On Sunday, Spezia hosts Napoli on matchday 38 of Serie A, with both teams looking to finish their campaign on a high note.
The home team has achieved their objective of Serie A for another season heading into the final weekend of the 2021/22 campaign.
A 3-2 win at Udinese last time out in Serie A ended a five-game winless run for Spezia in the league. In fact, the victory ended a four-game losing streak in the Italian top flight.
Spezia has certainly been generous in defence of late, conceding at least two goals in their last five league outing.
Thiago Motta’s team head into this clash on the back of three straight home defeats in Serie A, having conceded at least three goals in each of the defeats. However, those defeats were understandable considering they were playing Inter, Lazio and Atalanta.
The Azzurri were considered Scudetto candidates for much of the Serie A campaign. However, some crucial defeats at the end of last year and the beginning of 2022 have proven fatal to their bid for the Italian top-flight title. Luciano Spalletti’s team will finish third place in the table.
Napoli are finishing their campaign with a flourish though, despite the disappointment of not winning the Scudetto, as they have recorded three straight victories in Serie A, beating Sassuolo, Torino and Genoa.
The visitors have also been strong on their travels of late in the Italian top-flight, as they have recorded wins in four of their last five matches away from Naples.
This game will see club icon Lorenzo Insigne play his final game for Napoli, as he leaves this summer to join FC Toronto in MLS.
Forebet predicts that Napoli will record a victory in a high-scoring encounter to finish the season in a winning manner.
