As for Sporting Gijon, they sit twelfth in the standings – 12 points shy of Valladolid and 11 points clear of the bottom four.
Real Valladolid have lost just six of their 24 Segunda Division matches this season, picking up 13 wins and four draws along the way.
Thanks to a run of four wins and a draw, they head into Friday’s clash on a five-game unbeaten streak in the league.
