In what is arguably the most enticing league in Europe right now, AC Milan will welcome Sassuolo to the San Siro as the 18-time champions of Italy look to keep on the toes of Napoli with only goal difference separating them from the league leaders.

AC Milan are currently in second spot and they got extremely fortunate last weekend as they were defeated by Fiorentina in an all-time classic Serie A clash as Dusan Vlahovic bagged twice in a 4-3 victory as Zlatan Ibrahimovic did the same for his side.

It meant that Napoli could have finally started to stretch their lead at the top of the table to three points, but a victory by champions and local rivals of Milan, Inter Milan, meant they ran out 3-2 winners to keep their title race alive too and Napoli level with AC.

All this now means that for the fourth week running, Napoli and Stefano Pioli’s side are level on points and separated by just goal difference. For Milan, they’ve scored 29 goals in Serie A, but their 15 goals conceded compared to the Naples side’s seven is what is keeping them adrift of top spot right now.

Nevertheless, this defeat to Fiorentina was their first of the campaign in Italy and despite struggles in Europe, Milan also managed to be one of the very few teams to beat Atletico Madrid on their own turf in the Champions League as they picked up their first win in the competition for almost a decade.

It now gives them a fighting chance to still have European football this season, and whilst unlucky given the competition in their group, this victory over Atletico was a sign of more defensive resilience, something they are in desperate need of to keep up their title quest.

What’s more, Sassuolo are in torrid form ever since their famous victory over Juventus this time last month, as they managed to defeat a giant of Serie A, only to lose to a relegation fighter in Empoli a week later. Soon after, a defeat to Udinese saw them drop even lower in the table and a draw with Cagliari only added to these woes.

They are not sat in 13th and given their struggles post-Juventus win, they are not expected to win here and now face a fight just to get back into the top 10.

Forebet predicts another win for Milan here as they are simply incredible right now, which has only been echoed further in their recent Champions League win. Forebet also predicts the game will see over 2.5 goals.
