Lens and Angers will both be eager to build on impressive starts to the Ligue 1 season when they go head-to-head at Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Friday night.

Just three points separate the two sides in the table, with fourth-place Lens sitting two place ahead of sixth-place Angers.

Only two sides – Paris Saint-Germain and Nice – have picked up more wins than Lens this term. Lens have secured seven victories, three draws and four losses so far.

They have also scored 25 goals in the process, meaning just PSG have netted on more occasions than Lens.

When you look at the bigger picture, Lens have only lost two of their previous 16 Ligue 1 games on home soil.

They have also scored at least two goals in each of their last three home games, picking up three wins along the way.

In fact, each of Lens’ last four league games have produced over 2.5 goals. They are good going forward, but they often get exposed at the back.

On the flip side, Angers have recorded five wins, six draws and three losses from their opening 14 Ligue 1 matches this term.

Although they have netted five less goals than Lens, they have conceded two fewer at the opposite end of the field.

Angers have only lost one of their previous five Ligue 1 games, picking up a win and two draws in the process.

Following draws with St-Etienne and Lille, they claimed a clean-sheet victory over Lorient in their previous encounter last weekend.

Head-to-head: Both teams have picked up three wins from the last 11 meetings between them, with five draws coming along the way.

However, it is worth pointing out that Angers are currently enjoying a three-game unbeaten streak against Lens across all competitions.

Team news: Lens will be without left-back Deiver Machado and left winger Wesley Said on Friday as they continue to recover from injury.

Angers don’t have any injury concerns at the moment. Thomas Mangani has been their danger man so far this term, bagging four goals and two assists.

Lens and Angers both know how to find the back of the net, but neither team have been able to keep the ball out of their own goal this season.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Lens and Angers will produce a high-scoring draw on Friday, with both sides netting over 1.5 goals.
