The top two in UEFA Europa League Group B go head-to-head on Thursday as first-place Monaco welcome second-place Real Sociedad to Stade Louis II.

Both sides remain unbeaten in the Europa League this season, meaning Thursday’s clash is destined to be in intriguing affair.

Having picked up two wins and two draws, Monaco sit first on eight points. Meanwhile, Sociedad have six points after registering one win and three draws.

Last time out, Monaco came from 2-0 down to claim a dramatic late draw with Lille. Krepin Diatta instigated the comeback before Wissam Ben Yedder netted the equaliser.

It is worth noting, however, that Monaco have failed to win any of their previous three Ligue 1 games – registering two draws and a loss in that time.

In the Europa League, have taken eight points from a possible 12. They extended their unbeaten run in the competition to four matches earlier this month, recorded a goalless draw with PSV.

Monaco have conceded just two goals in four Europa League outings this term, keeping two clean sheets in the process.

As for Real Sociedad, drew with PSV and Monaco before beating Sturm Graz on Matchday 3. However, they were unable to get the better of the Austrians last time around.

In La Liga, Sociedad have lost only one of their 14 games – picking up eight wins and five draws along the way.

As a result, they find themselves second in the Spanish top flight – just a single point behind first-place Real Madrid.

It is also worth pointing out that Sociedad have only conceded ten league goals this season, meaning they boast the third-best defensive record in the division.

Head-to-head: The two sides met for their first competitive game in the reverse fixture back in September, playing out a 1-1 draw in Spain.

Sociedad enjoyed 64% possession and racked up 14 shots on home soil, limiting Monaco to just three attempts on target.

Team news: Monaco currently have three players sidelined through injury – Cesc Fabregas, Eliot Matazo and Jean Marcelin.

Real Sociedad will be without injured quartet Carlos Fernandes, Nacho Monreal, Asier Illarramendi and Jon Guridi on Thursday.

Considering the two sides played out a low-scoring draw back in September, a similar scoreline is expected this time around.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Monaco and Real Sociedad will share the spoils on Thursday. That said, both teams are likely to score.
