Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen will clash in Europa League Group G on Thursday night with top spot in the group up for grabs.

Los Verdiblancos have taken six points from six on offer in the Europa League. The Spanish side defeated Celtic at home 4-3 in a thriller before winning in Hungary against Ferencvaros 3-1.

Bayer Leverkusen are also on six points from six on offer thanks to wins over Ferencvaros 2-1 and Celtic 4-0. The Germans are atop the group thanks to a better goal difference.

A win away in Seville against Real Betis would put Bayer Leverkusen in command of Group G.

Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen are coming off of very different weekends on the domestic front. Los Verdiblancos won at the death against Alaves 1-0 thanks to a goal from Borja Iglesias.

Bayer Leverkusen lost 5-1 to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. Their loss ended a five-match winning streak in all competitions. Despite the Company XI’s loss against Bayern Munich, the team is playing good football this season.

Gerardo Seoane’s team has posted an away record of 5W-1D-0L. Bayer Leverkusen have outscored opponents 19-3 on the road and posted three clean sheets.

Real Betis have posted a home record of 2W-2D-1L. Manuel Pellegrini’s team has outscored opponents at home 9-7. Just one of Real Betis’ matches at home has finished as a clean sheet.

Pellegrini has just one injury issue going into the game on Thursday night. Defender Youssouf Sabaly is a doubt to play due to a muscle injury. He should be back this month but Thursday night’s game could come too soon.

Seoane could be without up to four players for the game on Thursday. Midfielders Charles Aranguiz, Exequiel Palacios, and Julian Baumgartlinger are all doubts.

Aranguiz and Baumgartlinger are both out until November While Palacios could be back in time for Thursday’s game. Defender Timoth Fosu-Mensah is ruled out of action until November with an ACL injury.

Bayer Leverkusen are playing well despite their 5-1 loss to Bayern Munich at the weekend. Real Betis have lost just twice this season and Thursday’s game should be a close affair.

However, Los Verdiblancos should struggle against Bayer Leverkusen on matchday 3 of Group G.

Real Betis’ two games in the Europa League finished with over 2.5 goals scored and both teams scoring. Both of Bayer Leverkusen’s matches in the Europa League ended with over 2.5 goals scored. Therefore, Thursday night’s game should see scoring.

The Germans should claim a win by a one goal margin as both sides find the back of the net and over 2.5 goals are scored.

Bayer Leverkusen will go to the top of the table and near qualification to the next round.
