Leeds United go in search of only their second Premier League win of the season when in-form Wolverhampton Wanderers visit Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Wolves have won each of their previous three games and head into Matchday 9 in the top half of the table.

Leeds, on the other hand, find themselves languishing just above the relegation zone – six points behind Bruno Lage’s side.

Having registered three draws and three losses across their opening six games, Leeds finally picked up their first win of the season – beating Watford 1-0.

They returned to losing ways last weekend, however, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Southampton at St. Mary’s.

Not only are Marcelo Bielsa’s men among the lowest scorers in the Premier League, but they also have one of the worst defensive records in the division.

They have netted just seven goals (0.88 goals per game) and have conceded 15 in the process (1.88 goals per game).

Raphina (3) has been Leeds’ main source of goals this season, while Patrick Bamford (1) has struggled to get his campaign of the ground so far.

On the flip side, Wolves came from 2-0 down to claim a dramatic 3-2 victory over West Midlands rivals Aston Villa last weekend.

Lage’s men only scored the first of their three goals on 80 minutes before adding a further two goals to claim all three points.

Wolves started the season with three consecutive 1-0 defeats, putting immediate pressure on both the new manager and his players.

However, they have now won four of their last five Premier League games – including each of their previous three.

With a record of W4-D0-L4 and a goal difference of 0 (8 scored, 8 conceded), it’s safe to say that Wolves have been one of the most unpredictable teams in the EPL this term.

Head-to-head: Wolves did the double of Leeds last season, picking up a 1-0 win at Elland Road before winning by the same scoreline in the reverse fixture.

In fact, Wolves have won each of their last five meetings with Leeds in all competitions – keeping four clean sheets along the way.

It is also worth noting that Wolves have scored a combined total of ten goals across their past five wins over Leeds (2 goals per game).

Team news: Raphina looks set to return for Leeds this weekend, although Junior Firpo, Robin Koch, Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford are doubts.

Wolves will be without injured quartet Hugo Bueno, Yerson Mosquera, Pedro Neto and Jonny for Saturday’s trip to Yorkshire.

Given the contrasting form of these two sides, Wolves are likely to get the better of Leeds without any real problems.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Wolves will score over 2.5 goals and keep a clean sheet en route to crushing Bielsa’s side.
