Juventus are atop Champions League Group H going into matchday 3 with six points from six points on offer. After wins against Malmo and Chelsea, Juventus face off with Zenit St. Petersburg on Wednesday night.

Zenit St. Petersburg are on a run of two straight games without a win in the Russian Premier League. The Russian champions won 4-0 against Malmo before going on their last two-match losing streak.

After a rough start to the season under coach Max Allegri, Juventus have played well over the course of their last seven games in all competitions. The Bianconeri are unbeaten in seven straight fixtures and are full of confidence.

Juventus are coming off of a 1-0 win against Roma in Serie A at the weekend. It was their thirds straight 1-0 win in all competitions. Juventus are the only team in Group H not to drop points as yet. A win would put them head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the group.

The Old Lady will play Zenit St. Petersburg twice over the course of the teams’ next two Champions League matches. Zenit St. Petersburg have blown hot and cold on the road this term.

Manager coach Sergey Semak’s team has posted a record of 3W-2D-2L in all competitions. The Russians have outscored opponents 13-9 over the course of those seven fixtures.

Allegri could be without up to three players for the home match against Zenit St. Petersburg. Defender Matthijs de Ligt is a doubt to play due to a muscle injury.

Forward Paulo Dybala is still recovering from an injury and may miss the fixture. Adrien Rabiot recently tested positive for COVID-19 and could miss the game.

Semak has just one player on the injury list going into the game on Wednesday night. Zenit St. Peterburg midfielder Magomed Ozdoev is recovering from a knee ligament injury and is unlikely to be available.

Alvaro Morata is co-leading scorer at Juventus with three goals in eight appearances in all competitions. Dybala has also added three goals to the team’s cause.

Zenit’s Artem Dzyuba, Sadar Azmoun, and Aleksandr Erokhin have combined for 15 goals in all competitions with each bagging five goals. Despite their good goalscoring form this term, Zenit St. Petersburg are unlikely to get on the scoresheet against Juventus.

Juventus have won three straight games 1-0 and the Old Lady should keep another clean sheet versus the Russians. Five of the team’s last nine games ended with under 2.5 goals scored, so expect a low-scoring fixture between these sides.
