RB Salzburg will welcome VfL Wolfsburg to Austria this Champions League Wednesday night as they look to move to the top of the table in what is looking like a very close Group G.

As of now, Salzburg are leading the way at the top with a point and a win so far, while Wolfsburg have drawn their opening two games against Sevilla and Lille, and a win in the first-ever clash between these two may put them top of the table.

Matthias Jaissle's men are in spectacular form once again right now on the domestic front, and it seems to be working well for them in their pursuit for the Champions League knockout rounds.

Currently, they sit top of the Austrian Bundesliga and are unbeaten all season long in all competitions and it’s tough to see them losing here.

It isn’t exceptionally impressive to be at top of the Austrian Bundesliga for Salzburg, as it is something they do pretty much each year.

However, with 27 goals scored from only 11 games and just six goals conceded, they really are one of Europe’s most in-form sides, regardless of who they are playing each week.

Last time out though, for the first time in the league this season, Salzburg came under a bit of pressure as they fell to a 1-1 draw away to Altach as Noah Okafor scored for the away side after nine minutes before an equaliser just five minutes later.

Prior to these dropped points, the only team to take points from the club this season was Sevilla, as they drew 1-1 together back in September as an Ivan Rakitic penalty cancelled out Luka Sucic's spot kick.

As for Wolfsburg, their extraordinary start to the season has faltered in recent weeks and they’ve seen their name at the top of the Bundesliga replaced by Bayern Munich, and they have since dropped into sixth and now fight for the top four.

What gives the Wolves a slight bit of hope back in the league is this form can be recaptured, despite winning only one of their last seven games in all competitions. Prior to this, however, Wolfsburg were undefeated and started the season off in excellent form.

During what has been a topsy-turvy campaign for the German side in both Europe and back in their homeland, they have now conceded 10 goals in eight league games and scored just nine of their own, which all but sums up their position and form on the continent right now.

Forebet predicts they will lose here with the game seeing under 2.5 goals.
