Barcelona come into the match having suffered a 2-0 loss at defending champions Atletico Madrid last time out.
Atletico Madrid took control of the game in the first half, scoring both goals including one from former Barcelona player, Luis Suarez. That result means Barcelona have recorded just one victory from their last 6 matches in all competitions.
The win came at home against Levante in La Liga and was a 3-0 victory but there have been defeats at home against Bayern Munich and away to Benfica in the Champions League.
Barcelona have also been held to draws at home by Granada and away to Cadiz in La Liga, both of which were poor results.
However, Barcelona remain difficult to beat in La Liga and are unbeaten in 31 of their last 35 matches in the league. They are undefeated in their last 4 home La Liga games, with 3 of those matches ending in victory.
Trends show both teams have scored in 4 of Barcelona’s last 5 home La Liga games.
Valencia make the trip to the Camp Nou on the back of a 0-0 draw at Cadiz prior to the international break. It was a disappointing result for Valencia and means they have failed to win any of their last 4 matches, all of which have come in La Liga.
Having lost 2-1 at home against Real Madrid courtesy of two late goals from the visitors, Valencia were beaten 3-1 at Sevilla.
Valencia found themselves 3-0 down after only 22 minutes and were never going to get back into the game following such a poor start. Valencia were then held to a 1-1 draw at home by Athletic Bilbao, needing an equaliser in the 90th minute to take a point.
Trends show Valencia have won only one of their last 14 away matches in La Liga. However, they are undefeated in 4 of their last 5 on the road, scoring 6 goals across their last 4 away games.
Looking ahead to the team news and Barcelona will be without Ronald Araujo, Sergino Dest, Martin Braithwaite, Moussa Wagué, and Clement Lenglet due to injury. Pedri is also unlikely to play any part in the match.
Valencia have doubts over four players, with Gaya, Thierry Correia, Carlos Soler, and Denis Cheryshev all struggling to be fit.
This is going to be a difficult game for Barcelona, who have been struggling at the start of the season. Valencia may not have what it takes to win the game but know they are capable of getting a point against the current Barcelona team and we could see a low scoring draw.
