Napoli’s Title Charge to Gain More Momentum With a Victory Over Fiorentina

Two of Italy’s most in-form sides will clash in Serie A this Sunday as Napoli travel to Florence to meet with Fiorentina with both sides battling it out in their own way right now for supremacy inside the top flight.

The Naples outfit have had a faultless start to the 2021/22 season and they are one of, if not the, most in-form side on the European continent from the top five leagues so far by winning absolutely every point from their six games thus far.

Napoli are on 18 points, and combine this with their exceptional record of 16 goals scored and just two let in, many have started to tip them for the title early on, but regardless, nobody is coming close to their form so far and it’s fair to say they are the favourites here in Florence for three more points.

Much of this phenomenal form has come due to the arrival of Luciano Spalletti, who took the helm at the start of the season to replace Gennaro Gattuso, who struggled for much of his own spell in Naples.

Now, under Spalletti, it seems as if only the Milan sides can run alongside Napoli right now.

Despite incredible form in Italy, the Blues did lose in the Europa League in midweek after a late flurry from Spartak Moscow gave them a 3-1 lead on away soil, and once again, Victor Osimhen scored for Napoli to make the game finish 3-2 to the Russian outfit.

This defeat comes off the back of falling 2-0 behind to Leicester City in their other group in the only other fixture in their European campaign so far. Osimhen scored the two goals again that day to make it 2-2.

Back in Italy, Napoli have not conceded a goal since meeting with Juventus four games ago, and they have since scored 10 goals and beat Udinese and Sampdoria 4-0, while easing past Cagliari 2-0.

As for Fiorentina, they’ve also started very well by their own standards.

The club currently sit sixth after winning four games and losing two, however, a defeat here could throw them outside the top nine if other results go against them.

Nevertheless, it’s been a decent start by them and they could get a goal here as a result. Nevertheless, Forebet predicts nothing but a win here for the league leaders in a game that should see over 2.5 goals.
