Newly-promoted Greuther Furth will be hoping to avoid humiliation when Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich come to town on Friday night.

Bayern have started the season in customary fashion, claiming four wins and a draw from their opening five league games.

On the flip side, Furth find themselves rock bottom of the table – having picked up just a single point from a possible 15.

Furth were hammered 5-1 by Stuttgart on Matchday 1 before holding Arminia to a 1-1 draw the following weekend.

They have since suffered three straight defeats, however, losing to Mainz, Wolfsburg and most recently Hertha.

Furth have only managed to score three goals across their first five matches and have also conceded 13 times in the process.

With free-scoring Bayern up next for the Bundesliga newcomers, we could see an embarrassing scoreline for the hosts on Friday.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side thrashed Bochum 7-0 on Saturday, racking up 24 shots while enjoying 70% possession.

That means Bayern have now netted 20 goals in five Bundesliga games this term, averaging four goals per game.

Across eight outings in all competitions this season, the Bavarians have scored over 2.5 goals on seven occasions.

Following hefty wins against Hertha (5-0) and Leipzig (4-1), Bayern cruised to victory over Barcelona in the Champions League last week.

Robert Lewandowski bagged a brace in Spain, meaning he now has 11 goals in seven appearances across all competitions this term.

Head-to-head: Furth and Bayern last faced each other in the Bundesliga back in 2012/13, with Bayern picking up 0-3 and 2-0 wins that season.

In fact, the two sides have only met four times since 1998. Bayern have kept three clean sheets in that time, posting an aggregate scoreline of 12-2.

Team news: Furth currently have three players out through injury – Jessic Ngankam, Gideon Jung and Robin Kehr.

Bayern, meanwhile, with be without injured duo Corentin Tolisso and Kingsley Coman for Friday’s trip north.

Considering the gulf in quality between these two sides, Bayern are expected to seal a comfortable win over Furth on Friday night.

Forebet predicts that Bayern Munich will score over 2.5 goals on their way to victory, while a clean sheet is also likely for the visitors.
