Norwich City and Watford earned promotion from the Championship last season as the league’s winner and runners-up, respectively.

Since kicking off the Premier League this season, neither side has had much success in terms of points and are desperate for them on Saturday at Carrow Road.

Watford have taken three points from 12 this season. After a 3-2 opening day home win against Aston Villa, Watford have lost three straight games without scoring goals.

Norwich City are bottom of the Premier League table. The Canaries have scored one goals and conceded 11 times, losing each of their four matches. The good news for Norwich City is that the most difficult part of their fixture list is over.

The Canaries have already played Liverpool, Manchester City, Leicester City, and Arsenal. They didn’t play bad against Arsenal, but still conceded 30 shots to the Gunners.

These teams met last season in the Championship with Watford winning both games by identical 1-0 scorelines. The game at Carrow Road was settled by a Dan Gosling second half goal sending Watford to the win.

Six players are on Daniel Farke’s injury list at Carrow Road. Bali Mumba should be fit following a knee injury. Dimitris Giannoulis’s back injury has improved and could play. Josh Sargent is also nearing a return from a thigh injury.

Farke needs the goalscorer to play and find form quickly.

Przemyslaw Placheta is still a doubt following a bout of coronavirus. Sam Byram is ruled out of the game with a thigh injury. Christoph Zimmermann is also ruled out with an ankle injury.

Xisco Munoz has four players on the Watford injury list heading into matchday 5. Joao Pedro is a doubt following a knee injury. Dan Gosling will take a late fitness test along with Ben Foster and Kiko Fermenia. All three could make the matchday squad.

Watford have conceded seven goals in their last three matches. They haven’t scored in that same time period, but playing against a Norwich City team that has conceded 11 times, hopes will be high of claiming a fifth straight win in all competitions versus the Canaries.

The Hornets are fourth in the league in aerial dual wins. Watford have won 55.2% of aerial duals and should dominate headers.

Watford should claim a fifth straight win against Norwich City in all competitions as both teams find the back of the net and over 2.5 goals are scored.
