3rd placed Borussia Dortmund play host to 8th placed Union Berlin at their Signal-Iduna-Park on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts will be looking to record a fourth win in five matches in the Bundesliga and another three points could see the hosts move top of the division if other results go their way.
Victories over Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2, Hoffenheim 3-2 and a 4-3 win away at Bayer Leverkusen have handed Borussia Dortmund a solid start to their new Bundesliga campaign.
The bigger picture shows that Leverkusen have been in impressive form for some time.
Borussia Dortmund have won 10 of their last 11 matches overall in the German top flight and look in good shape to add to their points tally this Sunday, while results and form at their Signal-Iduna-Park have also been impressive.
The hosts have registered wins in each of their last six home games, scoring 20 goals in the process and scoring 2 goals or more in each of these six victories as well, while also winning the previous four home meetings on the trot against Union Berlin.
Onto Union Berlin, and the visitors have made a solid if unspectacular start to the new Bundesliga campaign, winning one and drawing three of their opening four games of the new season.
Union Berlin have picked up points in draws with Bayer Leverkusen, Hoffenheim and Augsburg along with recording a 2-1 home win over Borussia M’gladbach but that victory was achieved on home turf at their Stadion An der Alten Försterei
Nevertheless, Union Berlin still remain undefeated and indeed, the visitors are actually unbeaten in their last six games overall in the domestic top flight which includes an earlier 2-1 home win over RB Leipzig towards the end of last season.
However, there are still concerns over Union Berlin’s results away from home as the visitors have managed to register just one win out of their last 11 matches on their travels, which came in the form of a 1-0 win at Freiburg last term.
Six defeats out of these last 11 away games along with failing to score in five of them whilst keeping just two clean sheets suggest this upcoming trip to face Borussia Dortmund on Sunday looks to be a tough fixture for the visitors.
This should therefore be a straightforward win for Borussia Dortmund.
