Bayer Leverkusen will welcome Borussia Dortmund to the BayArena in what is set to be one of the most important Bundesliga games of the season so far, as the two have begun the campaign with slightly contrasting starts.
Dortmund, despite the goals consistently coming in from Erling Haaland, have found themselves in a bit of a pickle this season as they have lost one and won two in the league just a few weeks after losing Jadon Sancho and the German Super Cup.
This does still put BVB fifth in the table early on, and with their nine goals from three games in the Bundesliga, the club are currently the top scorers alongside both Bayern Munich and Leverkusen. Defensively, however, the club have struggled and thus far let in six goals - this is the most inside the Bundesliga top 12.
Marco Rose has had a tough start to life as the new Dortmund boss, but it is in these games down the years that he managed to make a name for himself as one of Germany’s most promising coaches, and with Haaland up top, anything is possible for them.
Leverkusen, on the other hand, have come back with a vengeance in this campaign as they finished sixth, nine points off the Champions League spots.
Only won a slightly concerning 14 league games. Now, however, they sit second as the closest competitors to Bayern Munich’s crown early on alongside Wolfsburg.
Gerardo Seoane’s men are in sensational form right now, and if it wasn’t for Wolfsburg’s faultless start, Leverkusen would be cruising ahead of most of the pack in the Bundesliga, because nobody else is yet to show serious form towards the top end, including Dortmund.
Clashes between these two have been very different down the years and while either side have managed to snatch three points in some capacity in recent times over the other, goals have been guaranteed over the past few seasons.
For this reason, Forebet predicts a game of over 2.5 goals. At the same time, with 18 goals from their combined six league goals so far, it’s fair to say goals should be expected in this one.
However, Leverkusen’s form right now looks incredible and not much is going to stop their rise under Seoane at the moment, with so many players in great form and Forebet predicts them to get the win.
