Brentford have started the Premier League season in great form after earning promotion to the top-flight last season. On Saturday, Brighton visit the Brentford Community Stadium to face off against the unbeaten Bees.

Brighton are eighth in the league table heading into matchday 4. Graham Potter’s team has taken six points from nine on offer. They began the season well with a 2-1 win over Burnley and 2-0 against Watford. On matchday 3, Everton brought Brighton back to earth with a 2-0 win.

Brentford and Brighton last played during the 2016-17 Championship season. The Bees took four points from six on offer during those two games. Brentford won 2-0 at home and the sides drew 3-3 at the Amex. Brighton were up 2-0 at halftime before Brentford made a comeback in the final 45 minutes.

Thomas Frank’s team has scored just three goals this season. The defence has been the most surprising part of the newly promoted team. Brentford have conceded just one goal. All three of Brentford’s games in 2021-22 have finished with under 2.5 goals scored.

Brighton have scored four goals while conceding three times to opponents. Their last two games finished with under 2.5 goals scored and both teams not scoring.

Frank has three players ruled out of the game for Saturday. Midfielder Frank Onyeka is ruled out after a positive COVID-19 test. Defender Mads Soresen is ruled out with a knee issue and Joshua Dasilva is nursing a groin injury.

Potter has five players on the Brighton injury list going into the game. Full-back Tariq Lamptey is ruled out due to a thigh injury. Lamptey has been out of action long-term and has no return date set.

Kjell Scherpen is ruled out of the game with an ankle injury. Aaron Connolly, Solly March, and Dan Burn are all three doubts for the game; but one or more of them could be fit for the game.

Brentford have been excellent to kick off the season and should avoid relegation if this form continues. Striker Ivan Toney scored against Aston Villa on matchday 3. Toney should continue his good form and could get on the scoresheet this weekend versus Brighton.

With Brentford score just three goals and conceding a mere one goal, these teams should play out a low-scoring match.

In the end, Brentford should get a third straight draw as both teams scoring goals and finish with under 2.5 goals.
