The French top flight action resumes on Friday night after the international break.

Lorient have registered just one win from their opening four games of his new Ligue 1 campaign which came in the form of a 1-0 home win over Monaco while two draws and a loss complete the remainder of their games to date.
Draws with Saint-Etienne and Lens (both away from home) were either side of a heavy 3-1 loss on the road at Montpellier and results continue to produce mixed returns for Friday’s hosts who look like finishing mid-table at this stage.
Lorient have been impressive on home soil in recent times though as the hosts are unbeaten in their last seven games at their Stade Yves Allainmat, winning six of these encounters but their last defeat at home was to Lille in a 4-1 loss.
Lille sit mid-table in 10th place after the opening four matches of this new French top flight season where the visitors will be bidding to defend their Ligue 1 title, but results so far this season have been a little indifferent.
The visitors have also picked up just the one win to date in this season’s Ligue 1 campaign which was a 2-1 home win over Montpellier just before the international break and they’ll no doubt be looking to pick up where they left off here on Friday night.
However, Lille haven’t had things all their own way so far this term as the visitors have been held to draws by Metz and Saint-Etienne in 3-3 and 1-1 stalemates respectively, both of which were also away from home.
Lille also suffered a surprise 4-0 loss at home to Nice as well, so they’ll be keen to steady the ship on Friday night and may even be happy to settle for a point as they look to kick-start their defence of the Ligue 1 title in earnest.
Lille have won the last two meetings 4-1 and 4-0 respectively but this clash could be much tighter as it’s a Friday night and the season is still in its early stages.
