Leeds United welcome Liverpool to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, hoping to pick up their first Premier League win of the season.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2021/22 campaign.

Liverpool find themselves fifth on seven points, while Marcelo Bielsa’s team sit fifteenth with just two points to their name.

Leeds suffered a humiliating 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Manchester United on the opening weekend, before sealing 2-2 draw with Everton.

Bielsa’s boys then beat Crewe Alexandra 3-0 in the EFL Cup. However, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley last time out.

Still, it is worth remembering that Leeds are currently enjoying an eight-game unbeaten streak on home soil in all competitions.

They have also lost just two of their previous 14 Premier League games, so they will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds when Liverpool come to town.

Liverpool are enjoying an even better run, though, having avoided defeat in each of their last 13 league matches.

They have also lost just one of their previous 11 away outings in the Premier League, giving them plenty of reasons to be optimistic about Sunday’s clash.

The Reds beat Norwich 3-0 in their first game of the season, with a 2-0 victory over Burnley coming on Matchday 2.

Despite seeing 66% possession and notching up 24 shots, Klopp’s men were unable to prevent a 1-1 draw with Chelsea last time out.

Mohamed Salah scored against Chelsea, taking his tally to two goals and two assists this term. Diogo Jota has also netted twice this season.

Head-to-head: Liverpool went unbeaten against Leeds last term, winning 4-3 at Anfield before drawing 1-1 at Elland Road.

That means Liverpool are enjoying a ten-game unbeaten streak against Leeds, with seven wins and three draws coming in that time.

Team news: Leeds defender Robin Koch is currently sidelined through injury, while Mateusz Klich and Junior Firpo are also doubts.

Liverpool will be without Roberto Firmino, Takumi Minamino and Neco Williams this weekend, although James Milner could come back into the team.

Considering last season’s meetings between Leeds and Liverpool produced a combined total of nine goals, a high-scoring encounter is on the cards on Sunday.

Having said that, Liverpool should have enough firepower to outscore Leeds and come away with all three points.

Forebet predicts that Liverpool will score over 1.5 goals on their way to seeing off Leeds. However, both teams are expected to score.
