On Wednesday night, O’Higgins host Colo Colo at the Estadio El Teniente, in the Chilean Primera Division, as the visitors look to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
O’Higgins have endured a highly inconsistent campaign in the Chilean top-flight, having picked up 22 points from their 18 outings so far this season.

Their mixed fortunes mean that the home team are just two points above the relegation play-off spot in the Primera Division. They are also four points clear of the automatic relegation spots.
A record of just one win in their last nine matches in the Chilean top-flight has not helped their chances of moving clear of danger either. A 1-0 defeat at Audax Italiano last time out was O’Higgins third defeat in their previous four games.
Their recent record on home soil could not be more inconsistent, as they have won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six matches in the Primera Division.
Colo Colo have bounced back from a poor campaign by enjoying a very promising season this time around. The visitors currently sit top of the table, above second-place Audax Italiano only courtesy of goal difference.
Despite their lofty position in the standings, Colo Colo have taken just a point from their last two matches in the Chilean top-flight. A surprise 1-0 home defeat by Cobresal followed a 1-1 draw at Union La Calera.
One of the foundations of Colo Colo’s position so far this season has been their away results though, as the visitors are now unbeaten in six league games on their travels.
Judging by recent games against O’Higgins the omens are not good for an away win, as Colo Colo have lost three of the last four meetings with the home team.
