West Ham United have made a tremendous start to the season and they began with a 4-2 victory at Newcastle United. Despite going a goal down after only 5 minutes and being 2-1 down at half time, West Ham United produced an excellent performance in the second half to score 3 unanswered goals. All 3 goals came in the space of 13 minutes and West Ham United were good value for their win.
Even better was to come in their second Premier League fixture of the season as The Hammers defeated Leicester City 4-1 at home. The Foxes were reduced to 10 men in the 40th minute when the score was 1-0 but West Ham United were already well on top by then and scored 3 goals in the second half to take maximum points.
Trends show West Ham United have won by 2 or more goals their last 4 Premier League games in a row and there have been over 2.5 goals scored in those 4 matches.
Crystal Palace make the short trip to the London Stadium searching for their first victory of the season. The Eagles started with a tough trip to play the current Champions League holders, Chelsea and were beaten 3-0. With the third goal coming in the 58th minute, it could have been worse but Crystal Palace kept their opponents out during the remaining 30 minutes.
Next was a fixture against fellow London club Brentford and Crystal Palace failed to breakdown the Premier League newcomers. The match ended 0-0 but Crystal Palace did have the better chances despite failing to find the back of the net. Unfortunately for The Eagles, they also failed to find the back of the net as they were eliminated from the English League Cup in midweek, losing 1-0 at fellow Premier League club, Watford.
Trends show Crystal Palace have lost all of their last 4 away matches in all competitions and have failed to score a goal in those 4 games.
Looking ahead to the team news and West Ham United are likely to be unchanged from the starting XI against Leicester City. Arthur Masuaku is the only doubt for David Moyes.
Crystal Palace have doubts over the fitness of Eberechi Eze and Nathan Ferguson, with both players having an Achilles problem. Luka Milivojevic and Michael Olise are not expected to be back in action until after the international break.
West Ham United will fancy their chances of winning this game and maintaining their 100% start to the season. Based on their recent matches, we expect to see The Hammers scoring 3 or more goals on their way to victory.
