Tottenham Hotspur will aim to build on a memorable win over Manchester City when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux in the Premier League on Sunday.

In Nuno Espirito Santo’s first competitive match as Spurs boss, the North London outfit produced an immense performance to dispatch the reigning champions 1-0 on the opening weekend.

Meanwhile, Wolves – who were also playing their first game under new manager Bruno Lage – were beaten 1-0 by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Despite seeing 43% possession, Wolves racked up a whopping 17 shots last weekend, while Leicester could only manage nine.

However, Lage’s men were unable to find a way past the Foxes’ resolute backline, with Jamie Vardy scoring the only goal of the game just before half-time.

Having lost all three of their final Premier League games in the previous campaign, Wolves have now lost each of their last four matches in England’s top-flight.

Looking at the bigger picture, Wolves have only managed to win one of their previous seven league games.

Trends also show that Wolves’ last three Premier League games at Molineux have dished up over 2.5 goals, meaning we should be set for a high-scoring encounter on Sunday.

As for Tottenham, they produced a battling display to get the better of Man City on the opening weekend – despite seeing just 34% of the ball.

Son Heung-min netted the only goal of the game just after the break, but the entire team put in a spirited performance to down the defending champions.

Not only have Spurs scored at least once each of their last 16 league games, but they have also been involved in four straight away games that have produced over 2.5 goals.

It goes without saying that Nuno will be eager to get one over on his former club, having left Wolves for Spurs during the off-season.

But having suffered a shock 1-0 loss to Pacos de Ferreira in UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying on Thursday, it may not be that straightforward.

Head-to-head: Tottenham have only lost one of their previous four meetings with Wolves, picking up two wins and one draw along the way.

When you consider the wider picture, Spurs have lost just two of their last ten matches against the Wanderers.

It is also worth noting that six of the previous ten games between Tottenham and Wolves have dished up over 2.5 goals.

Team news: Wolves will be without injured quartet Daniel Podence, Pedro Neto, Jonny and Willy Boly this weekend.

Tottenham have no fresh injury concerns, although the ongoing Harry Kane saga means the England captain isn’t likely to feature this weekend.

Despite suffering a surprise loss in midweek, Spurs are expected to bounced back on Sunday, with Nuno reverting back to a full-strength starting XI.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score at Molineux. However, Tottenham are expected to outscore Wolves.
