The French top flight action continues on Sunday lunchtime when Angers play host to Lyon at their Stade Raymond-Kopa with Angers looking to pick up back-to-back wins in Ligue 1 following their opening day win against Strasbourg last weekend.
Angers opened their account with a 2-0 win away from home at Strasbourg last week to give them the perfect start to this new Ligue 1 campaign.

Although they now return to the more familiar surroundings of their Stade Raymond-Kopa this Sunday, Angers have managed to pick up just two wins out of their last 11 matches overall.
The other win came in the shape of a 3-0 home win against relegated Dijon towards the end of last season while the hosts have also suffered seven defeats within these last 11 matches, one of which was a heavy 3-0 loss away from home at Lyon back in April.
Results and form at home haven’t been much better either for Angers who have registered just one win from their last eight matches on home soil, losing five of these games and keeping just one clean sheet.
Lyon were held to a slightly disappointing 1-1 draw at home by Brest in last week’s season-opener so the visitors will be keen to open their account when they make their way to play Angers in this Sunday lunchtime clash.
Overall results towards the end of last season’s Ligue 1 campaign were reasonable enough for Lyon as the visitors suffered just three defeats from their final 13 matches overall, all of which were incidentally dealt out to them on home turf at their Groupama Stadium with losses incurred against PSG, Lille and Nice.
This of course means that Lyon possess a solid sequence of results away from home in the French top flight and this is certainly the case as the visitors have put together a 17-match unbeaten run on the road since September last year.
In addition, Lyon have won their last three away matches on the trot with victories at Nantes, Monaco and Nimes, while the visitors also hold a good record against Angers in previous exchanges.
Winning each of their last five meetings on the trot, so Lyon stand a very decent chance of grabbing all three points in this one.
