Saturday afternoon brings us action from the Norwegian top flight with Bodo/Glimt playing host to Viking at the Aspmyra Stadion as the hosts seek to return to winning ways following their recent shock defeat at Sandefjord.
A disappointing and surprising 1-0 defeat away from home at Sandefjord last time out in the Eliteserien has resulted in Bodo/Glimt dropping down to 2nd spot and now three points adrift of the new league leaders, Molde, but the hosts return to home turf for Saturday’s clash.

Bodo/Glimt hold an overall record to date in the Norwegian top flight of W7, D2, L3 but the hosts have lost just once at their Aspmyra Stadion so far this campaign where they possess a strong looking record of W5 D1 L1 to date.
The bigger picture shows that Bodo/Glimt have lost just three of their previous 21 matches overall in the domestic top flight, while their record at home has been extremely consistent.
Bodo/Glimt have lost just one of their last 32 matches along with winning the last four meetings on the trot against Viking.
Onto Viking then, and the visitors remained in 5th place on the Eliteserien ladder following their high-scoring 3-3 draw at home with Stabaek in midweek, and recent results have produced inconsistent returns.
Victories against Valerenga and Sarpsborg have been tempered by defeats to Haugesund and Sandefjord, both of which were inflicted upon Viking away from home, while five wins from their last 13 matches overall further underlines Viking’s inconsistent streak in the Eliteserien.
However, while Viking have more than held their own on home turf at their SR-Bank Arena, where they’ve won three of their five matches to date this season, results away from home have been less convincing as the visitors have already lost three of their opening five games on the road.
The bigger picture shows that Viking have managed to register just three wins out of their last 10 games on their travels, and this upcoming trip to Bodo/Glimt doesn’t look like being any easier for Viking on Saturday afternoon.
To make matters potentially even worse for Viking is the fact that they’ve also failed to keep a single clean sheet in each of their last 12 away games overall in the Eliteserien, conceding 2 goals or more in seven of these 12 games.
Bodo/Glimt therefore look set to record all three points here.
