Brazil will no doubt be keen to register their second win on the trot in Group B in the Copa America on Thursday evening against Peru having recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Venezuela in their opening match of the group stage.

Brazil have been in exceptional form under manager, Tite, as the hosts of this year’s Copa America tournament have now racked up eight wins on the trot in all competitions and once again look the team to beat in this competition as well.

The Estádio Nilton Santos provides the backdrop for this upcoming clash against Peru who actually inflicted a 1-0 win away at Brazil in an international friendly back in September 2019.

Although, Brazil avenged this loss with a 4-2 win against the Peruvians in a 4-2 win in the World Cup qualifiers back in October.

Peru ended a miserable stretch of eight matches without a win in all competitions last time out with a 2-1 win away from home at Ecuador in their recent World Cup qualifier which was a surprising but most welcome win for Peru.

Peru have lost six of these last eight matches and had previously suffered four defeats on the trot with losses incurred against Brazil 4-2, Chile 2-0, Argentina 2-0 and Colombia 3-0, but although they halted this losing streak, another one could be starting again when they come up against Brazil on Thursday!

Peru have also won just three of their last eight matches in all competitions so an away win here looks highly unlikely.

Although, goals could feature as four of these eight games also resulted in over 2.5 goals while Peru have also scored at least once in five of these eight away games as well.

The visitors are expected to be under the majority of the pressure here with Brazil chasing a sixth home win on the trot in all competitions.

Tite’s side will sense Peru are here for the taking as the hosts look to take another big step towards the second phase of the tournament with a win at the Estádio Nilton Santos.

Three of the last four meetings have produced three goals or more and this trend could continue on Thursday evening as Brazil chase a sixth home win on the trot in all competitions.
