With the Gameweek 16 transfer deadline closing at 13:30 (GMT) on Monday, December 28, you don’t have long to make changes to your FPL team.

Let’s start by checking out the upcoming fixtures, before looking at the top picks for Gameweek 16.

    • Crystal Palace vs. Leicester

    • Chelsea vs. Aston Villa

    • Everton vs. Manchester City

    • Brighton vs. Arsenal

    • Southampton vs. West Ham

    • West Brom vs. Leeds

    • Burnley vs. Sheffield United

    • Manchester United vs. Wolves

    • Tottenham vs. Fulham

    • Newcastle vs. Liverpool

Palace and Leicester kick off Gameweek 16, before high-flying Villa face off-form Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Winless Sheff Utd visit fellow strugglers Burnley, with league leaders Liverpool traveling to Newcastle.

    Goalkeepers

There were clean sheets for six goalkeepers in the previous round, including Ederson (Manchester City) and Jordan Pickford (Everton).

Emi Martinez (Aston Villa) achieved his eighth shutout of the season, keeping him clear at the top of the leaderboard.

With the joint-lowest scorers in the league – Sheff Utd and Burnley – facing each other on Tuesday, we could easily see a clean sheet at Turf Moor.

    Defenders

Kourtney Hause (Aston Villa) was the highest scoring defender in the previous round, picking up a goal and a clean sheet.

Kurt Zouma (Chelsea) remains the highest scoring defender this season, although the Blues could struggle against Villa this week.

Only Sheff Utd and Burnley have scored fewer goals than West Brom this term, so Stuart Dallas (Leeds) and Luke Ayling (Leeds) could be in line to score big.

    Midfielders

Burno Fernandes (Manchester United) added another goal and another assist to his impressive tally last time out.

However, Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) was the highest scoring midfielder of Gameweek 15, thanks to his stellar performance against Chelsea.

Anwar El Ghazi (Aston Villa) is one of the league’s in-form midfielders right now, having netted four goals in the last four games.

    Forwards

Golden Boot chasers Jamie Vardy (Leicester) and Patrick Bamford (Leeds) both scored again in the previous round.

West Brom and Leeds have the joint-worst defensive record in the division. With the teams facing each other on Tuesday, forwards from both sides look set to pick up points.

Newcastle also have a poor defensive record, so Robert Firmino (Liverpool) will be confident of adding to his tally – five goals, three assits – on Wednesday.
