As the Premier League table starts to take shape, it’s an exciting time for Fantasy Football. We are beginning to find out who’s hot and who’s not, and which players have turned their early-season promise into genuine lasting form.
Let’s take a look at the top picks for Round 8.
Kepa – Chelsea
The Spaniard kept a clean sheet in his previous match against Brighton as Chelsea secured their first home win in the league this season. With the Blues’ defence improving, and a trip to struggling Southampton next up, Kepa could be on course to record consecutive clean sheets.
Kyle Walker-Peters – Tottenham Hotspur
Fellow right-back Serge Aurier was sent off in Tottenham’s last match meaning he will be suspended for Spurs’ trip to Brighton this weekend. Walker-Peters is likely to come in to replace Aurier and carries a cheap price tag for a player from one of the league’s ‘big six’ clubs.
Aaron Cresswell – West Ham United
Aaron Cresswell’s recent performances have been outstanding and he has helped West Ham to register 3 Premier League clean sheets in a row. The left-back has also scored in his last two appearances, picking up plenty of points in Fantasy Football as a result.
Anwar El Ghazi – Aston Villa
El Ghazi has picked up a goal and an assist in his last two games and has been one of Aston Villa’s standout players so far this season. Villa face Norwich next up, and considering the Canaries’ poor defensive record, you’d be foolish to bet against him being involved in more goals in Round 8.
Riyad Mahrez – Manchester City
Mahrez has played every minute of City’s last two matches and Pep Guardiola seems to favour the Algerian winger at the moment. With two goals and two assists in that time, he is in great form, and is a cheaper option than some of the club’s other midfielders.
Mason Greenwood – Manchester United
The 17-year-old striker has certainly impressed when given the opportunity this season. With Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial suffering ongoing injuries, Greenwood is likely to be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-choice forward for Manchester United’s next match.
Callum Wilson – Bournemouth
The England striker has scored 5 goals in his last 4 appearances and has started the season in red-hot form. With Arsenal up next for the Cherries, Wilson could well add to his tally against the Gunners’ weak defence.
