Right, it’s time to go over the top FPL picks for Gameweek 9.
Edouard Mendy (Chelsea) produced a stunning display to keep a clean sheet against Brentford last weekend. With low-scoring Norwich up next for the Blues, Mendy is a great premium pick.
If you’re looking for a solid budget goalkeeper, David Raya (Brentford), Jose Sa (Wolves) and Vicente Guaita (Crystal Palace) are all worth considering this weekend.
Joao Cancelo (Man City) is now the highest-scoring defender in the game. The Portuguese has notched six clean sheets and an assist in his last seven league games – and he also scored in the Champions league in midweek.
Ben Chilwell (Chelsea) has netted in each of his previous three appearances for club and country. Not only is he a threat going forward, but he is also part of a watertight defence.
Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Kurt Zouma (West Ham), Caglar Soyuncu (Leicester) and Matty Cash (Aston Villa) are also among the league’s in-form defenders right now.
It goes without saying that Mohamad Salah (Liverpool) is a must-have at the moment. The Egyptian has bagged 12 goals and four assists in 11 appearances across all competitions this term, making him the highest-scoring player in FPL.
Sadio Mane (Liverpool) has also rediscovered some form of late, netting five goals in his last seven league outings.
If you’re searching for a non-premium midfielder this weekend, don’t overlook John McGinn (Aston Villa), Youri Tielemans (Leicester), Nathan Redmond (Southampton) and Ruben Neves (Wolves).
Harry Kane (Tottenham) finally opened his Premier League account last time out. The Spurs striker now has seven goals and one assist in all competitions this season.
With Diogo Jota (Liverpool) sidelined, Robert Firmino (Liverpool) starred last weekend. The Brazilian netted a hat-trick and contributed an assist in the Reds’ 5-0 rout of Watford, adding to his two Champions League goals.
Ivan Toney (Brentford) is proving to be a popular pick this season, as is Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle). Don’t forget about Jamie Vardy (Leicester), too, as the Foxes face the Bees on Sunday.
