The new season in the Eredivisie started last weekend and looking ahead of Round 2, we are expecting even more action this week.
Fortuna Sittard will try to come back to winning ways, when they face SC Heerenveen this Saturday.
The home side experienced an awful 2019/20 campaign and were threatened with relegation, but the season was curtailed without champions and relegated teams. SC Heerenveen finished 10th last season and will too be aiming for better results this time.
Moving on with another fixture this weekend, PSV Eindhoven host FC Emmen at their Philips Stadion.
The away side suffered a 3-5 defeat against VVV Venlo in their opening fixture and will be striving for a better performance in Round 2. PSV Eindhoven won their first match of the new season and they will be hoping that their home advantage will help them continue their unbeaten run.
Two sides who are yet to register a win this season meet this Sunday, when ADO Den Haag host FC Groningen at their Cars Jeans Stadion.
Both teams have lost their opening fixtures. ADO Den Haag finished 17th last season and escaped relegation, only because the campaign was cancelled, while FC Groningen showed better results, finishing at 9th spot in the league standing.
The last fixture of Round 2 will be held this Sunday, when AFC Ajax host RKC Waalwijk at their Amsterdam ArenA.
AFC Ajax are the main contenders for the league title, so they will hope that this year everything will go according to plan and they will lift the trophy. RKC Waalwijk finished at the bottom of the table last season and it will be interesting to see what changes has the manager made to the team.
